This elementary school uses innovative methods of timber construction for the erection of a 9-classroom elementary school with multifunctional sports hall. Located in a small village in the countryside of Styria/Austria, the symbiotic integration of materials and techniques of construction produce an architectural composition in harmony with its rural context.

The project concept encompassed:

  • Timber construction and wooden cladding systems, whose scale and material presence harmonizes with local architectural traditions.
  • Innovative classroom planning with integrated wintergarten spaces.
  • Massive timber structural system and innovative wooden construction solutions.
