Sri City Central District – Chennai, India

Sri City is a Special Economic Zone located approximately 60 miles north of Chennai, India; it combines an industrial free-trade zone with residential, commercial and institutional facilities.

Contrary to typical practices for Indian SEZ’s, Sri City Central District is an open, multifunctional city with up to 50,000 inhabitants. The master plan is organized around a central commercial district and includes municipal amenities, public transport facilities, a water management program and a wide variety of housing typologies the will serve the residential needs of a complete spectrum of income groups.
