A house with a panoramic view, planned in reaction to an extraordinary site – and in response to the everyday needs of a family of four.

A folded concrete shell, placed upon a stucco plinth, elevates the main living area and turns it towards spectacular views of the Vienna Woods – and away from the traffic noises of the through-street below. The children’s bedrooms and den are located in the ground-level plinth, while the parents’ room is placed in the 2nd storey, underneath the spectacularly shaped roof. The living/dining room occupies the space in between. Although it floats well above the surrounding site, a sloping, grass-covered terrace comfortably connects this room to the garden below.

The result is a unique and stunning space, eminently liveable and energy efficient as well – a perfect fit for this family’s needs.
